The summit of the 2300 m high Pico volcano seen from 1200 m.

The astonishing landscape of Pico: hidden in the clouds is the Pico volcano with

smaller craters in the foreground. The lake in the Caveiro crater contains the

longest Azores sequence found so far, ca 9 m of sediments.
